Tool 11

My favorite tools would be Wordle, Google Docs and Poll Everywhere.  I could see myself using them frequently in my classroom.  I plan on doing a Wordle to review semester 1 vocabulary.  I also plan on using Poll Everywhere during a review day to make a game of the review.
I’m now more excited about technology…I feel like I have always embraced it but now I know more about it.  I think that getting the devices in my room and actually having my students work with them will be the true test on my tech knowledge.  I think the more I work with the devices, the more creative I will become with my lessons and reinforcing my curriculum with technology devices.

Tool 10

I want my students to be good digital citizens by only visiting reliable websites, using blogging responsibly and always using appropriate language and grammar.

I would teach digital citizenship by educating my students on what type of websites are educational and responsible such as .edu and.org websites.
I would include expectations of good digital citizenship on my syllabus as well as send home a letter of expectations to all parents.  These expectations and guidelines can also be posted on my website and blog.

Tool 9

It’s important to tie the technology to the objective because technology can enhance student learning and reinforce concepts.  It is a fun way to engage students will covering material on your curriculum.
We should hold students accountable for their stations or centers because it shows them how to learn in a student centered environment.
The websites I visited were Tutpup and Mangahigh.com. I really liked them both for stations. Their variety of games was extensive and had lots of different content. There are a lot of competitive games which is always engaging to students. The Mangahigh.com site is more individualized. Accountability would be very easy because the kids are always excited to let you know who is winning or who lost.
An app that I found useful is create a graph. Some of my students struggle with graphing and create a graph would be very helpful for them.
Another way I see my students using the iPod Touch/iPad is for review for tests. If the test covers 3 different objectives, then each station could be for 1 of the objectives.

Tool 8

Something new I learned, was that by creating an iTunes account I can add programs to the students computers. I also learned that the Netbooks need to hooked up to the internet often to be updated.
I will number all of the devices and have a sign-out sheet for the students.  I will also have students sign an equipment contract with usage guidelines.

Tool 7

Content Objective - Students will be able to use real-world examples to solve real world word problems learned in Algebra 1.

When You Plan To Implement – I will implement activity after the lesson and foundation of the material has been taught as a reteach activity.

What Tool(s) You Plan To Use - Google Docs

Description Of Plan - Each group will be assigned 2-3 problem and they will use Google Docs to work between classes.

Other Classroom - My students will be able to work with other Algebra students from different periods and different teachers or even different schools.

Tool 6

I chose Google Docs because I can quickly share info with the Algebra team or my fellow coaches. Poll Everywhere can be use to do a quick and immediate assessment of student learning and they get to text in class which they will love!

Tool 5

I like using Wordle because it can be used to review vocab or introduce new vocab.
